Quick answers to what people ask us most. For step-by-step help with the app, see the Guide.

The basics

What is Perkroo?

Perkroo shows the perks your memberships already include (motoring clubs, health funds, rewards programs, bank cards and more) in one list on your phone, nearest first. Pick the memberships you hold, and Perkroo shows the offers they unlock and how far away each one is. It’s free on iPhone.

Is Perkroo a cashback or coupon app?

No. Perkroo is built around what you already hold: the benefits your memberships include, and offers you’ve saved yourself.

Which programs does Perkroo cover?

170+ Australian membership programs with 1,400+ offers between them, including motoring clubs, health funds, rewards and loyalty programs, and bank cards. The catalogue is Australian only. If one of yours is missing, tell us, or add one of its offers yourself (see Can I add a perk you’re missing?).

Is Perkroo connected to the programs it lists?

No. Perkroo is independent, and isn’t affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any program it lists. We list publicly available member benefits, and nearly every offer links to the provider’s own page.

Using your perks

How do I use an offer?

Open it and follow its terms. Usually you show your membership card at the counter, or use the provider’s own app or website. Perkroo can show your card at the till, as a barcode or a photo you’ve saved, and for many programs it opens the provider’s app or site in one tap. Afterwards, tap I used this and confirm the amount saved (you can change it); it’s then added to your estimated savings on Profile.

How do you know the offers are right?

Nearly every offer links to the provider’s own page, and we re-check offers against it. Offers can change at the provider’s end, so check their page before relying on one. If something’s wrong or has expired, tap Suggest a correction on the offer. A moderator reviews every correction before it changes the offer for everyone.

How do birthday perks work?

Tell Perkroo your birthday month and it rounds up 70+ birthday offers from Australian programs. The list is there all year, and it flags the ones your memberships unlock as your birthday comes round. You’ll also see birthday offers from programs you haven’t added. To use one, you need to be a member of that program, so join it with the provider first if you aren’t (check its terms for how early to sign up), then tap + Add on the offer to add it in Perkroo. On Free, that counts toward your five memberships.

What if I’ve only got one bar of signal?

Perkroo is built for patchy signal. It keeps a copy of your offers on your phone, so once they’ve loaded with a connection, Home opens straight away, even with one bar, and refreshes when it can. Opening an offer’s full details and logging a saving still need a connection.

Your own vouchers and gift cards

Can I keep my own vouchers, gift cards and store credit in Perkroo?

Yes. Tap + Add at the top of the Memberships tab. Take a photo of the voucher, save a picture of its barcode, or type the details in, then add the store and the expiry date. It shows on Perkroo’s Home tab. There’s no limit on how many you save, on Free or Premium.

Will Perkroo remind me before a voucher expires?

Yes. From 7 days before its expiry date, it’s counted in the “expire this week” reminder at the top of Home; tap View to see it listed by name. For that to work, leave Remind me before it expires on (it’s on by default) and type the expiry date as YYYY-MM-DD, for example 2026-12-24. The reminder only appears inside the app; Perkroo doesn’t send a notification.

Are my saved offers backed up?

No. They’re stored on this phone only, not in your Perkroo account. The one exception: if you tap I used this on a saved offer, that saving, with the offer’s name and store, goes into your savings history, which is kept with your account. Signing out or switching accounts clears saved offers from the app; any photo or barcode picture you attached stays in the app’s storage on this phone, where the next account can’t open it, until you delete the app. They don’t move to a new phone, so keep the original until you’ve used it. In the app’s own words: “Personal offers stay on your device. Photos are processed on-device; cloud is only used if you choose to share with the community.” You can delete a saved offer but not edit it. Saved offers don’t disappear on their expiry date, so delete them once you’re done.

Sharing with the community

Can I add a perk you’re missing?

Yes, please. Submit it from the Community tab: enter the merchant and the offer detail. If it comes with a membership, tap Yes under “Is this tied to a specific membership?” and name it under “Which membership?”. A photo helps, but it’s optional. Or, when you add one of your own offers with + Add, tap Save & share with community instead of Save to my offers. Either way, a moderator checks it before anyone else sees it. Once approved, it goes live on Home, never with your name on it. Please only share deals anyone can use, not a voucher with your own code on it.

Privacy and your account

Do you need my card details?

No. You can save your membership number or a photo of your card so it’s handy at the till, and that stays on your phone. It’s never uploaded to us. Perkroo does keep which memberships and cards you’ve added, so it can show their offers. Signing out removes your saved card numbers and photos from the app, though the photo files stay in Perkroo’s storage on the phone, where the next account can’t open them, until you delete the app. Premium is paid through your Apple ID, so we never see your payment card either.

What data does Perkroo collect?

What the app needs to work: your name and email, and a random account ID; the memberships you’ve added, including which bank cards and health funds you hold; the savings you log; anything you submit, confirm, correct or report; birthday perks you hide for the year; and, if you subscribe, your Premium subscription record. Your location (approximate or precise) is sent when the app works out how far away offers are, and isn’t stored. Perkroo doesn’t sell your personal information. The full detail is in our privacy policy, and the App Store privacy label lists every category.

How does Perkroo use my location?

To work out how far away offers are and put the nearest first. Perkroo asks for your postcode when you set up, and Approximate measures distances from the centre of that postcode; the postcode itself stays on your phone. Precise uses your phone’s GPS instead, but only once you’ve allowed location access; until then Perkroo keeps using your postcode. You can switch between them any time in Location settings. Online deals and most card perks, which have no shop to visit, don’t show a distance.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Profile → Delete account. It happens straight away and signs you out. If you’ve already removed the app, email us from the address you signed up with; the steps are on our delete-account page. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel Premium, so cancel that in your Apple ID subscriptions first.

Price and devices

Is Perkroo free?

Yes. Free covers up to 5 memberships, and for those five nothing is held back: every offer they include, nearest first, plus the birthday round-up, your cards at the till, community offers and the savings tracker. Perkroo Premium is A$1.99/month, billed through the App Store, cancel anytime. It adds unlimited memberships, so you can add every program whose birthday perk you want to redeem, plus the Visa and Mastercard network offers, which aren’t part of Free.

Why is there a five-membership limit?

It’s how Perkroo pays its way. Five fits a mix such as a motoring club, a health fund, two bank cards and a loyalty program. If you hold more, Premium lifts the cap.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet; it’s in development. Leave your email on our homepage and we’ll send one message when it’s ready.
