Perkroo ("we", "us") helps you track the memberships you already have and the perks they include. This policy explains what information the Perkroo app collects, why, and what happens to it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and you can delete everything yourself from inside the app. The app contains no analytics or tracking SDKs of any kind — no usage analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers.
| Information | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Email address and name | To create and secure your account, and so your saved data follows you across devices. |
| Approximate location — the coordinates of your postcode's centre point, or your precise location if you turn that on (optional, and only with your iOS permission) | Sent with a request for nearby offers so we can work out how far away each one is. You can switch between approximate and precise at any time in Location settings. Your postcode itself stays on your phone. |
| Your memberships and savings — the providers you add, and the savings you log | This is the core of the app: it's how Perkroo shows you your offers and your savings total. |
| What you contribute to the community — offers you submit, offers you confirm, corrections you suggest, and reports you make about inappropriate content | To run the shared catalogue: submissions and corrections are checked by our moderators, confirmations help decide what goes live, and reports are how we find content that breaks the rules. These are stored against your account so we can review them, prevent abuse, and show you your own corrections — but your name is never shown to other users. |
| Community submissions — offers you share, including an optional photo | An offer you submit (and any photo attached to it) goes into the Community tab straight away, where other members can see it and confirm it. Our moderators then review it before it can join the main catalogue. Submissions are never shown with your name or contact details, though we do record which account submitted one so moderators can act on abuse. |
| Your membership cards (optional) — a membership number you type in, or a photo of the card taken with your camera or chosen from your photo library | So you can show your card at the counter without digging out the physical one. This stays on your phone. It is never uploaded to us, never sent to the providers, and we cannot see it — see "Kept only on your phone" below. |
| Subscription status | To unlock Premium features if you subscribe. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details. |
Perkroo uses a small number of service providers to run the app:
Some things are stored on your device and never sent to us at all:
All of it is removed when you sign out, switch to a different account on the same phone, or delete your account, so nothing of yours is left behind on a shared device. Deleting the app removes it too.
Hiding is not the same as reporting. Hiding an offer just removes it from your own view and stays on your phone. If you report an offer, that report is sent to us — with your account attached — so a moderator can review it and act on it.
Some offers include a link that opens the provider's own app or website (for example to show your card there). Once you leave Perkroo, that provider's own terms and privacy policy apply — we don't send them any of your information, and we have no visibility of what you do there.
We keep your information while your account exists. Approved community submissions may remain visible to other users (not attributed to you) after you delete your account, since they've become part of the shared catalogue.
Open Profile → Delete account in the app. This permanently removes your account, your memberships, your savings history, and your personal details from our systems. It cannot be undone. You can also email us (below) and we'll delete it for you.
Premium is billed by Apple to your Apple ID. To manage or cancel it, use your Apple ID subscription settings — deleting the app or your account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Perkroo is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Meaningful changes will be flagged in the app.
