Overseas transit accident insurance up to $650,000

Existing HSBC Platinum cardholders are covered for accidental death or injury while boarding, getting off or travelling as a fare-paying passenger on a plane, train, bus, taxi or short-haul ferry overseas, when the entire fare for the trip is charged to the card before the trip starts. Your spouse and dependants are covered too when they travel with you for the whole trip and their fares are charged to the card the same way; the cardholder death benefit is $650,000 and no excess applies. The card is closed to new applicants and 17 November 2026 is the last day it can be used, so cover applies to trips paid for by then and ends 1 January 2028.
