Extra 20kg checked baggage with Star Alliance Gold Status

Star Alliance Gold Status earned through the card gives you an extra 20kg baggage allowance or one extra piece of luggage on Star Alliance member airline flights, depending on the airline's rules. The card is closed to new applicants and is cancelled on 18 November 2026, but Gold Status you already hold continues until its status end date (closing your account early withdraws it). New Gold Status is granted only if your account is still open on 18 November 2026, you have spent $38,000 or more in the qualification period ending 17 November 2026 and your card anniversary falls after that date; it then lasts 12 months.
